It’s a rare event when a Diesel engine manufacturer and a motorhome manufacturer band together to build a special power plant for one if its models. That’s just what happened. After a 3 year collaboration between Tiffin and Cummins, the 2017 Allegro Breeze now enjoys a new ‘energetic’ ride thanks to an assertive Cummins ISV5.0 V8 engine.
Designed and developed specifically for our Powerglide™ Chassis, the new combination was tested continuously for just over 400,000km’s!!
The ISV5.0 exceeds traditional Diesel engines in durability, reliability and performance. From its inception, it’s emissions was designed to not only meet but exceed worldwide emissions standards. Extraordinarily clean, quiet and fuel efficient, this state of the art engine is equipped with the latest HPCR fuel system and the VGT™ Turbocharger.
On paper it delivers 275hp at 3,200rpm (dyno figures of early engines are closer to 300hp) and peak torque of 760nm at 1,600rpm. These figures make it a rocket compared to last years model!
The Cummins VGT turbochargers patented design is recognised in the industry for its precision boost control across the rev range increasing fuel economy and elevating performance.

Advanced Glow Plugs – The advanced ceramic glow plug system significantly reduces startup time in cold weather conditions and the low current draw reduces vehicle charging system requirements. Unlike traditional bi-metal style glow plugs, these ceramic glow plugs are designed to last the life of the engine.
